Project Overview

The 322MW Channel Island Power Station is the Northern Territory’s largest power generation facility, located near Darwin. Operated by Power and Water Corporation, the gas and steam turbine power plant plays a critical role in supplying reliable electricity to Darwin and surrounding regions.

As a key component of the Territory’s energy infrastructure, the station requires robust and highly dependable electrical and instrumentation systems to support continuous generation, grid stability, and operational safety. The project involved urgent commissioning requirements, with critical infrastructure needing to be delivered and installed within tight timeframes to ensure uninterrupted power supply capacity.

Our Impact

We supplied a comprehensive range of instrumentation, power, and control cables to support the plant’s turbine generators and associated systems. The project required immediate delivery of anti-termite steel wire armoured cables, specifically engineered to withstand the Northern Territory’s harsh environmental conditions and termite-prone environment.

Our rapid response and high-performance cable solutions were essential to the successful commissioning of this major power facility — reinforcing the reliability, safety, and continuous operation of the Northern Territory’s largest power station.
