Project Overview

The BassGas Yolla A Offshore Platform is a critical gas production facility operated by Origin Energy, supplying natural gas to the state of Victoria. Situated offshore in the Bass Strait, the platform forms an essential part of Victoria’s energy infrastructure, providing reliable gas to industrial, commercial, and residential customers.

Operating since 2006, the 120-meter high, four-legged steel jacket structure processes raw gas and liquids, sending them via subsea pipeline to the Lang Lang Gas Plant.

Offshore operations demand highly durable and specialised equipment capable of withstanding harsh marine conditions, including exposure to saltwater, wind, and vibration. The project required strict adherence to EPC contractor specifications, ensuring all cable systems met detailed vendor data records and compliance standards for operational safety and reliability.

Our Impact

We supplied a range of GSWB-armoured low smoke zero halogen (LSZH) control and instrumentation cables, engineered for offshore use to provide enhanced fire safety, corrosion resistance, and mechanical durability.

These specialised cable systems support critical process control, monitoring, and communication functions on the Yolla A platform. By delivering high-performance, compliant, and reliable cables, we contributed to the safe and continuous operation of this essential offshore gas facility, reinforcing Victoria’s energy supply network.
